ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's indoor track and field teams won nine events and set two meet records Saturday at the Jim Wuske Invitational at Peterson Fieldhouse.
Both meet records came on event wins the women's side as junior Hilary Reigle (Madison) won the 1,000 meters with a time of 3:03.13 while the 800-meter relay team of sophomore Daijana Johnson (Alliance) along with freshmen Megan Bailey (Alliance), Mariah Eisenbraun (Lisbon / United Local) and Hailey Miller (Louisville) posted a time of 1:47.92.
The women won two other events as senior Dana Crofoot (Perry) won the long jump with a season-best mark of 17-feet, 8-inches and the 1600-meter relay team of Bailey, Miller, sophomore Lindsay Thut (Aurora / Crestwood) and freshman Cortni Arp (Copley) took the title with a time of 3:03.13.
The men, ranked No. 5 in the nation, won five events headlined by senior Raphael Tshikala (Rochester, N.Y. / Greece Olympia) who posted a career-best mark of 46-4.25 in winning the triple jump.
The Purple Raiders other event winners came from junior Louis Berry (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Shady Side Academy) in the 200 meters (22.94), sophomore Matt Keim (Bolivar / Tuscarawas Valley) in the pole vault (15-9) and freshmen Mark Worley (North Canton / Hoover) in 1,000 meters (2:40.97) and Evan Hershberger (Dalton) in the high jump (6-6).
Mount Union is back on the track next week at the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein University in Westerville.
