Women's Track and Field: Adams OAC Sprinter of the Meet; Raiders Fourth at OAC Indoor Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mount Union's women's track and field team placed fourth at the 2018 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at Capital University.

The Purple Raiders scored 120 points but saw their run of consecutive titles end at seven as Otterbein won its first team title since 2007 with 144 points. Ohio Northern was second with 128 points and John Carroll was third with 121 points.

Mount Union did win four events with two of those wins coming from sophomore Rachael Adams (Louisville / St. Thomas Aquinas) as she picked up OAC Sprinter of the Meet honors.

Adams won the 60-meter dash (7.87) and 200 meters (25.60) while also picking up all-conference honors with a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay with teammates freshman Cortni Arp (Copley) along with sophomores Lindsay Thut (Aurora / Crestwood) and Sarah Mason (Alliance / Marlington).

Mason also nabbed All-OAC accolades with a third place finish in the 500 meter dash (1:19.07)

Senior Dana Crofoot (Perry) won the long jump (18-1) and scored in three other events while the other event win came from sophomore Aamirah Howard (Akron / Woodridge) in the 60-meter hurdles (9.20).

The top three finishes in every event earn all-conference honors.

Other all-conference performances for the Raiders came from freshman Alexianna Johnson (Dover) with a second in the long jump (17-11).
