WOOSTER, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's track and field team won seven events and the team title at the Wooster Invitational Saturday at The College of Wooster.
Two Purple Raiders each won two events as Rachael Adams (Louisville / St. Thomas Aquinas) claimed the title in the 100 meters (12.73) and 200 meters (25.70) while Alexianna Johnson (Dover) won the long jump (18-2.5) and triple jump (35-7.25).
The three other wins came from Hilary Reigle (Madison) in the 5,000 meters (17:35.75), Aamirah Howard (Akron / Woodridge) in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.42) and the 4x400 meter relay team of Sarah Mason (Alliance / Marlington), Toni Beuck (Cleveland / Villa Anglea-St. Joseph), Emily Schutt (Painesville / Riverside) and Megan Loetz (Chardon) with a time of 4:17.46.
Mount Union also got four second place finishes from Howard in the 100 hurdles (15.67), Katie Vance (Norwayne / Norwayne) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (11:30.06), Megan Bailey (Alliance) in the 400 meters (59.66) and Tori Blandine (Newton Falls) in the 400 hurdles (1:07.44).
The Raiders scored 243 points to win the team title which was 159 points ahead of second place Edinboro (Pa.).
Mount Union hosts the John Homon Open next weekend at Mount Union Stadium.
