ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's indoor track and field team won eight events and set three meet record Saturday at the Jim Wuske Invitational in Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.
Alexianna Johnson (Dover) and Daijana Johnson (Alliance) each picked up a pair of wins. Alexianna Johnson won the long jump (17-5.5) and triple jump (34-2) while Daijana Johnson won the 60 meter dash (7.95) and 200 meter dash (26.64).
Bri Aveni (Geneva) had a season-best mark of 11-feet, 10.5-inches in the pole vault which is 14 th in NCAA Division III so far this season.
The three meet records came from wins by Emily Henson (Hamilton / Badin) in the 1,000 meters (3:06.12) and both the 4x200 meter and distance medley relay teams.
Mariah Eisenbraun (Lisbon / United Local), Olivia Powers (Nowalk / St. Paul), Maryonna Cathey (New London) and Cortni Arp (Copley) posted a time of 1:47.35 in the 4x200 meter relay while Hannah Reigle (Madison), Emily Schutt (Painesville / Riverside), Tess McConkey (Cambridge) and Hilary Reigle (Madison) ran a time of 13:14.08 in the DMR.
Mount Union also got six second place finishes from Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) in the high jump (5-1), Brittany McCauley (Mansfield / Ontario) in the mile (5:30.65), Sabrina Stocker (Madison) in the 60 meter hurdles (9.39), Maryonna Cathey (New London) in the 500 meters, Nicole Laskowski (Parma / Normandy) in the 5000 meters (19:43.88) and the 4x400 meter relay team of Elise Chojnacki (North Royalton), Hailey Miller (Louisville), Calista Waters (Beloit / West Branch) and Emily Schutt (Painesville / Riverside) with a time of 4:18.09.
The Purple Raiders compete next week at the All-Ohio Championships at Otterbein University in Westerville.
