Track and Field: Two Women's School Records Set at Raider Tune-Up

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's indoor track and field team set a pair of school records to headline the Purple Raiders' day at the Raider Tune-Up meet Saturday at Peterson Fieldhouse in Alliance.

Freshman Bri Aveni (Geneva) posted a mark of 11-feet, 11.25-inches which bested the previous record of 11-10.75 that Abbey Eisenbrown did in 2017 while senior Hilary Reigle (Madison) got the school record in the 1000 meters at 2:57.75 which beat a 2003 time of 3:01.91 from Brooke Benner.

Alexianna Johnson (Dover) got wins in both the triple jump and the long jump and the Purple Raiders won five other events on the women's side -- Brittany McCauley (Mansfield / Ontario) in the 3,000 meters, Lily Bogunovich (Alliance / Marlington) in the high jump, Eva Rivera (Austintown) in the 60 meter dash, Sarah Mason (Alliance / Marlington) in the 800 meters and Hannah Kahn (Beachwood) in the 200 meters.

The No. 4 nationally ranked men's team won four events as AJ Digby (Tontogany / Otsego) won the 400 meters, Evan Hershberger (Dalton) won the high jump, Malik Britt (Bossier City, La. / Airline) in the 60 meter hurdles and Jonathon Wahlie (Lima / Shawnee) in the 1000 meters.

The Raiders compete next Friday and Saturday at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships at Ohio Northern University in Ada.
