Mount Union's women's track and field team will attempt to get back on the top of the podium at the 2019 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Friday and Saturday at Otterbein University in Westerville.

The Purple Raiders have finished in second to Ohio Northern each of the last two seasons by 12.5 and 12 points respectively after a run of eight-straight conference titles.

Mount Union does have student-athletes ranked high in a number of events including the returning Field Athlete of the Meet in last year's event in junior Alexianna Johnson (Dover), who swept long and triple jump titles in 2018 and will compete in both events this week.

Senior Hilary Reigle (Madison) is seeded third in the 1500 meters and fourth in the 5000 meters. She was all-conference in both events a year ago as she placed third in the 1500 meters and second in the 5000 meters.

Junior Katie Durisin (Painesville / Riverside) is ranked third in the 3000 meter steeplechase which she finished second and was all-conference in 2018.

Four other Raiders are ranked second in their respective events -- sophomore Sabrina Stocker (Madison) in the 100 meter hurdles, freshman Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) in the high jump, freshman Michaelina Terranova (North Jackson / Jackson-Milton) in the 400 meter hurdles and sophomore Cortni Arp (Copley) in the 400 meters.

Junior Sarah Mason (Alliance / Marlington) is ranked third in the 800 meters while freshman Bri Aveni (Geneva) is also ranked third in the pole vault.
