Track and Field: Raiders Set Four Meet Records at Jim Wuske Invitational

Alliance, Ohio— Mount Union's women track and field team came away with four new meet records and six total first place finishes Saturday at the Jim Wuske Invitational in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders had the top three finishers in 500 with senior Sarah Mason (Alliance / Marlington) winning with a new meet record time of 1:17.97. Senior Lindsay Thut (Aurora / Crestwood) and freshman Taylor Cupp (Geneva) rounded out the top three in times of 1:21.78 and 1:22.07.

In the 200-dash Freshman Kenadee Wayt (Wheeling, W.Va. / Wheeling Central Catholic) finished with a new meet record in a time of 26.17 and junior Cortni Arp (Copley) came in second with a 26.28.

In the 800 the Raiders picked up another one two finish and new meet record with senior Katie Durisin (Painesville / Riverside) winning in a time of 2:20.31 and freshman Megan Wertz (Canton / Glen Oak) with 2:23.17.

Mount Union picked up its final meet record in the 1k with junior Brit McCauley (Ontario) finishing in 3:02.57.

The Raiders finished with two more individual titles in junior Sabrina Stocker (Madison) with the 60-meter hurdles (9.20) and sophomore Lily Bogunovich (Alliance / Marlington) in the 400 with a time of 1:00.13.

Mount Union travels to Westerville, Ohio next Saturday, Feb. 15 to compete at the All-Ohio Championships.
