Women's Track and Field: Gibbins Sets New School Record

GRANVILLE, Ohio—Mount Union's women Track and Field athlete sophomore Kennady Gibbins (Navarre / Fairless) set a new school record in the pentathlon scoring 3,164 points and finishing second at the All-Ohio DIII Track & Field Championships Multi-Events at Denison University.

Veronica Clutter held the record with 3105 points since 2014.

Gibbins began the event with the 60-meter hurdles running it in 10.01 seconds. She went over the high jump bar at 5-feet 4.5-inches. Gibbins threw the shot put 31-feet 5.25-inches while jumping 16-feet 7.25-inches in the long jump. In the last event of the day Gibbins got the school record running a 2:38.29 in the 800.

Mount Union travels to Westerville, Ohio next Saturday, Feb. 15 to compete at the All-Ohio Championships.
