Mahnke and Parker Named All-Region Volleyball

(LEXINGTON, KY)—Mount Union seniors Melissa Mahnke (North Royalton/North Royalton) and Sarah Parker (Geneva/Geneva) were both named to the All-Great Lakes Region First Team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Both were All-OAC First Team selections earlier this season and advance to the All-American ballot.

Mahnke, an All-American last season, leads the Purple Raiders in kills (3.42) and is second in digs (3.62).  Mahnke is also the school's all-time leader in kills with 1,576.

Parker has a team-best .378 hitting percentage and also tops the squad in blocks with 84.

The pair have also led Mount Union to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and the Raiders play a second round matchup against No. 1 in the nation Juniata (PA) College Friday at 7 pm in Huntingdon, PA.
