Mount Union Volleyball Splits in Cincy

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Mount Union volleyball team split in non-conference action on Saturday at Mount Saint Joseph, earning a sweep over Fredonia (N.Y.), but then falling to the host Lions.

The Purple Raiders opened their day with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 decision over Fredonia.

Mount Union lost to Mount Saint Joseph, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

Roni Schroeder (Shelby/Shelby) led the Purple Raider attack with six kills in the loss. Julie Radigan (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) added 23 assists while Sarah Dean (Strongsville/Walsh Jesuit) and Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) contributed 14 and 11 digs, respectively.

Mount Union (17-7) will be back in action on Tuesday when it hosts Baldwin-Wallace at 7 p.m. The contest will be part of the Ohio Athletic Conference's "Dig Pink" initiative.
