Volleyball: No.18 Mount Union Travels to Tourney at No. 5 Juniata This Weekend

ALLIANCE, Ohio- The No. 18 ranked Mount Union volleyball returns to action this weekend at the Juniata Eagle Classic in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.

There will be live stats of all matches and live video during Friday's match against No. 5 ranked Juniata.

The Purple Raiders also play No. 16 Clarkson (N.Y), Mary Washington (Va.) and Stevens (N.J.) over the two day tournament. Mary Washington (Va.) and Stevens (N.J.) are among others receiving votes in this week's AVCA poll.

Mount Union (4-1) is led by outside hitter Morgan Chapman (Seven Fields, Pa./ Seneca Valley), setter Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) and libero Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton). Each leads the team in their respective categories: Chapman in kills (36), Schenk in assists (92) and Baird in digs (67). Chapman and Baird were named to the All-Tournament team in last week's Purple Raider Classic.

Clarkson (6-1) is led by hitter Aishvina Arasu, with having 68 kills on the year and setter Kirstie Shurie with dishing out 198 assists this year.

Juniata (4-0) is led by Nakita Gearhart and Megan Moroney. Each have 37 and 34 kills respectively.

Mary Washington (4-1) is led by Emma Olson, Rachel Hendricks and Leslie Walters. Olson is leading the team in assists with 167. While Hendricks and Walters have 69 and 61 kills respectively.

Stevens (3-1) is led by Christina Sciarra and Mary Tobin. Sciarra and Tobin have 36 and 33 kills each.

Next week, the Raiders play a pair of road games against Case Western Reserve in Cleveland before playing Ohio Wesleyan and Hanover in Delaware, Ohio.
