Volleyball: No. 25 Mount Union Hosts Hiram Tuesday Then Off to Pittsburgh For Weekend

Mount Union's volleyball team, ranked No. 25 in the nation, hosts Hiram Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Center then travels to Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) this weekend for the CMU Double Tree Invitational.

AVCA Top-25:

The Raiders have been ranked every week this season so far and are No. 15 in the poll released Sept. 22  

Scouting Mount Union:

The Purple Raiders, 7-5 overall, are coming off a 1-1 showing at Ohio Wesleyan this past weekend. Mount Union beat Hanover (N.J.) 3-0 before falling short to host Ohio Wesleyan 2-3.

Mount Union is led by sophomores Brooke Knollman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and Morgan Chapman (Seven Fields, Pa./Seneca Valley) each having 92 and 89 kills on the season. Knollman was named to All-Tournament team this past weekend at the Ohio Wesleyan tournament.

Sophomore Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) is leading the team in assists with 257 while freshman Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) is leading in digs with 190.

Scouting Hiram:

Hiram is off to an 11-3 start this year and is led by Lindsey Brewer with 195 kills, Laura Kelly with 197 digs and Clair Maier with 516 assists.  

Scouting Brooklyn:

Brooklyn College are 4-4 on the year and is led by Christolia Butler with 51 kills, Sasha Roopchand with 73 digs and Crystal Wu with 117 assists.

Scouting Pomona-Pitzer

Ponoma-Pitzer is off to a 6-1 start and is led by Julia Zwaal with 126 kills, Michelle Schultz with 164 digs and Jessica Finn with 293 assits.

Scouting Stevenson:

The Mustangs, 10-3 overall, is led by Annika Schwartz with 127 kills, Sara Bollinger with 294 assists, and Deanna Bradbury with 178 digs.

Scouting Carnegie Mellon:

Carnegie Mellon is off to a 14-1 start and is led by Jackie Gibbons with 151 kills, Emily Newton with 502 assists and Molly Higgins with 272 digs.
