Volleyball: Raiders Remain Perfect at Marcia French Invitational; Now 6-0

BEREA, Ohio- Mount Union's volleyball team defeated Buffalo State (N.Y.) and North Carolina Wesleyan Friday at the 19th Annual Marcia French Invitational.

Against Buffalo, the Purple Raiders (6-0), defeated the Bengals 25-15, 25-10, 25-11. Senior Brooke Knollman (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) led on the offensive end with 10 kills, while senior setter Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) tallied 24 assists and junior Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) led with 10 digs.

In the match against North Carolina Wesleyan, Mount Union won in straight sets 25-9, 25-10, and thrilling third set with a victory of 25-22. Leading the Raiders was freshman Madelin DiBease (Perry/Perry) with 14 kills, giving her 21 on the night. Most of those kills came off of Schenk's 31 assists. Knollman and junior Kyleigh Jackson (Galloway/Westland) added eight kills and a block a piece. Senior Celia Barrett (University Heights/Hathaway Brown) led in digs this time around with 13.

Mount Union will compete against Eastern Mennonite (Va.) at 11:00 am and Hilbert (N.Y.) 1:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 10 for the conclusion of the Marcia French Invitational.
