BEREA, Ohio - Mount Union's volleyball team sweeps Eastern Mennonite (Va.) and Hilbert (N.Y.) to conclude the 19th Annual Marcia French Invitational, making the Purple Raiders co-tournament champions alongside Baldwin Wallace.

The Purple Raiders (8-0) defeated Eastern Mennonite 25-16, 25-14, 25-11 in three straight sets. Freshman Madelin DiBease (Perry/Perry) led the way once again recording 10 kills; followed closley by Junior Kyleigh Jackson's (Galloway/Westland) nine and senior Brooke Knollman's (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) eight. Knollman's performance this weekend earned her All-Tournament Honors. Majority of Mount Union's 41 kills came off of senior setter Riley Schenk's (Lorain/Amherst Steele) 25 assists. On the defensive end, junior Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) led with 12 digs.

Against Hilbert, the Purple Raiders defeated the Hawks 25-3, 25-13 and 25-8. The Raiders were well represented across the board. Jackson led in kills with seven, followed by DiBease's four. Mount Union racked up 31 kills against Hilbert, coming from Schenk's 21 assists, giving her 46 on the day. Baird led in digs with six.

Next up, Mount Union will travel to Cleveland and face Case Western Reserve Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00 pm.
