Volleyball: Riley Schenk Named OAC Player of the Week

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Mount Union senior setter Riley Schenk (Lorain/Amherst Steele) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week for volleyball (9/25).

Last week, Schenk averaged 2.35 kills, 8.9 assists and 2.17 digs per set though 17 total sets which allowed her to record two triple doubles. Against Hiram, Schenk had 11 kills, 32 assists and 10 digs; against Geneva she tabbed 11 kills, 26 assists and 13 digs. Schenk helped lead the Purple Raiders as they went 4-1, improving to 16-2 overall, with their only loss coming from #13 Carnegie Mellon.

Acorss the OAC, Schenk currently sits second in hitting percentage with an average of .400 and fifth in assists-per-set with an average of 9.52. For Mount Union, she also sits second in overall career hitting percentage at .359 and fifth in total career assists with 2,020; the Raiders still have 10 regular season matches remaining.

Mount Union will begin OAC play at Ohio Northern on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m.
