Women's Volleyball: Raiders Pull Clean Sweep Day One at Golden Flyer Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Mount Union's women's volleyball team swept Medaille (N.Y.) and Keuka (N.Y.) on Friday during day one of the Golden Flyer Invitational, moving their win-streak to 11 games and remain undefeated.

Against Medaille (N.Y.), a total of nine Purple Raiders recorded kills with junior middle hitter Marlee Peck (Homeworth/Marlington) ahead of the squad with seven kills. Peck also led the team in blocks with a season-high of five.

With a team-high 27 assists was junior setter Carly Stepic (Cleveland/Holy Name) as 34 of the 36 kills were assisted.

As a whole, Mount Union collected 35 digs with senior libero Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) at the top of the leaderboard with eight. Megan Donegan (Dublin/Dublin Coffman), Chase Filicko (Olmsted Falls/Gilmour Academy) and Stepic were next in line with five a piece.

Against Keuka (N.Y.), Peck was once again the leader in kills with eight and Stepic dished out 30 assists.

Strong at the net, Peck tabbed four blocks as she was joined by senior middle Kyleigh Jackson (Galloway/Westland) and freshman Kirsten Powell (Strongsville/Strongsville) who each had two.

Baird dug up 17 balls, continuing to lead the team and defend the back row.

Looking to continue their 11-game win streak, Mount Union next plays Geneseo State (N.Y.) and Fredonia State (N.Y.) Saturday, September 15.
