AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Three Mount Union women's volleyball student-athletes have been selected to the 2018 All-Ohio Athletic Conference teams.
Sophomore outside hitter Madelin DiBease (Perry/Perry) was named to the first team, junior middle hitter Marlee Peck (Homeworth/Marlington) to the second team and senior libero Allison Baird (North Royalton/North Royalton) received honorable mention.
DiBease, who was named to the second team last season, started all 28 matches while playing in 90 sets to lead the team in kills with 254. Averaging 2.82 kills per set, DiBease landed 10th on the leaderboard for the conference. DiBease recorded career-highs in digs and blocks this season with 21 digs against Westminster (Pa.) and seven blocks against nationally-ranked Ohio Northern, ultimately leading DiBease to log six double-doubles.
In her first season receving all-conference honors, Peck has been named to the second team. Peck led the Purple Raiders and the OAC in hitting percentage at .351 in 439 attempts. She also received her first OAC Player of the Week selection (9/4/18) after her performance at the Mount Union Invitational with 38 kills while hitting .487 and 10 blocks, which also led to her being named the invitational's Most Valuable Player.
This is Baird's second time being dubbed with all-conference honors in her career after being named to the second team in 2016. Baird played in 27 matches this season and has been the libero for Mount Union all four years. The senior landed fifth in the conference in digs per set with 4.93. With 1,915 career digs, Baird is now fourth overall in Mount Union history.
The Purple Raiders (22-6) finished sixth in the OAC with a conference record of 5-4.
