Women's Volleyball: Mount Union Votes In AVCA National Coaches Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Mount Union women's volleyball team was among teams to receive votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Preseason National Coaches Poll.

The Purple Raiders went 22-6 in 2018 and return eight letterwinners in 2019 for fifth year head coach Melissa Mahnke. A pair of all-conference players are included in the returners in junior outside hitter Madelin DiBease (Perry/Perry) and senior middle hitter Marlee Peck (Homeworth/Marlington).

Two other Ohio Athletic Conference teams appear in the ranking as Ohio Northern is ranked No. 23 and Muskingum is also receiving votes. Other 2019 opponents in the poll include No. 6 ranked Wittenberg, No. 21 Hope (Mich.) while Case Western Reserve, Carnegie Mellon (Pa.) and Susquehanna (Pa.) are among others receiving votes.

Mount Union kicks off its season Friday and Saturday, August 30-31 with the annual Mount Union Invitational at the MAAC in Alliance.
