Mount Union Women's Volleyball Freshman Alyssa Kasaris Makes Masks For Cleveland Clinic

Mount Union freshman Alyssa Kasaris (North Royalton) and her family have been making homemade masks for workers at the Cleveland Clinic to aid in their fight against COVID-19.

"We decided to do it because we have a family friend that works at the Cleveland Cinic who posted on Facebook a link asking for "people who can sew to do them" so my mom and I just decided to do it!," commented Kasaris.

The directions for making the mask came from the following link https://buttoncounter.com/2018/01/14/facemask-a-picture-tutorial/

Kasaris, a defensive specialist and Exercise Science major, played in all 30 matches in 2020 and led the team and fourth in the conference in digs with 541 for a Purple Raider team that went 20-10 overall.

"This is just an example of the kind of teammate and person that Alyssa is," stated Mount Union head coach and fellow North Royalton native Melissa Mahnke-Morrison. "When she sees something that needs done or someone that needs something, she is one of the first to step up."
