Women’s Cross Country Places First at Ric Sayre Invitational on Saturday

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's cross country team placed first at the 2013 Ric Sayre Invitational hosted by Walsh University in North Canton Saturday Morning.

The Purple Raiders finished first in the Ric Sayre Invitational with 25 points, 15 points better than second place John Carroll.

The Raiders were led by junior Brooke Mathie (Lousiville/Louisville) who finished third with a time of 18:51.79 at the Ric Sayre Invitational. Junior's Catie Campbell (Blacklick/Licking Heights) and Stacy Cameron (Canton/Massillon Perry) finished behind each other at fifth (19:03.58) and sixth (19:07.38), respectively, in the race.

With a time of 19:32.75, senior Rachel Smith (Waterford, Pa./Fort LeBoeuf) finished in eighth place as junior Jana Sleutz (Kidron/Kidron Central Christian) came in 10th with a time of 19:36.98 to round out the top ten finishers for Mount Union

Mount Union will return to the course Saturday, September 21 as they travel to the Otterbein Invitational in Westerville, Ohio where the start is set for 11 am.
