Women's Cross Country Takes Sixth at #JennaStrong Classic Friday in Wilmington
WILMINGTON, Ohio – Mount Union's women's cross country team took sixth place at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic on Friday, October 18 in Wilmington, Ohio.
The classic was in memory of Wilmington junior cross country runner Jenna Parlette. Parlette collapsed while leading the Franklin Invitational on August 31, and passed away three days later.
The Purple Raiders were led by Brooke Mathie (Louisville/Louisville) who finished 10th out of 398 runners with a time of 18:50.13.
Mount Union finished sixth out of 34 teams with 185 points just five points shy of fifth place Ball State. The University of Toledo won the event with a total of 82 points.
Mount Union's women's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, November 2 as they travel to the OAC Championships in Westerville, Ohio at 11:00 a.m. hosted by Otterbein University.
