Women's Cross Country: Mount Union Picked Fourth in OAC Preseason Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's cross country team was picked fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Purple Raiders recieved 59 points in the poll which was five behind third place Ohio Northern (64).

Otterbein received eight first place votes and is atop the poll with 80 points. John Carroll in second with 71 points and Ohio Northern each split the other two first place votes.

Mount Union finished fifth last year at the OAC Championships and are led this year by sophomore Katie Durisin (Painsville/Riverside).

Other top returners include senior Katie Vance (Burbank/Norwayne) and twin sister in juniors Hilary and Hannah Reigle (Madison/Madison).

The Purple Raiders open the season Friday, September 1, at the Ric Sayre Invitational at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

The OAC Championship is Saturday, October 28 in Tiffin, Ohio.
