Women's Cross Country: Raiders Selected Fifth in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – The Mount Union women's cross country team was selected fifth in the preseason Ohio Athletic Conference coaches poll.

The Purple Raiders gathered 55 votes which was three points behind fourth place Ohio Northern (58 pts.).

The Raiders finished third in last year's OAC championship race and are led this year by senior Katie Durisin (Painesville/Riverside) who earned all-conference honors with a fifth place finish at last year's conference meet.

Other key returners for Mount Union include senior Sarah Mason (Alliance/Marlington), junior Kate Wilson (Findlay/Findlay) along with sophomores Krissy Tarter (Alliance/Marlington) and Bri Biery (Beloit/West Branch)

Mount Union opens the season Friday, August 30, at the Quaker Open at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.

The OAC Championship is Saturday, November 2 in Twinsburg, Ohio.
