The men's team used the efforts of six different event winners
to score their second OAC victory of the year. The Raiders were led
by senior Gian Surbella(Ashtabula/St. John and Paul), who won the
500-Yard Freestyle (5:27.06) and Matt Carlozzi(Canfield/Canfield),
winner of the 200-Yard Freestyle (1:48.51).
Ben Haren(Lisbon/David Anderson),
Rob Brocious(Mentor/Mentor), Julian Oprandi(Heath/Heath), and
Eric Langley(Fairview Park/Fairview) also earned victories for the
Raiders, who evened their record at 4-4.
The women's team improved their record to 5-3, with the help of
freshman Elizabeth Juran(Independence/Independence) . Juran won
both the 50-Yard Freestyle (26:40) and 100-Yard Backstroke
(1:03.97).
Alyson Kolesar (Stow/Stow), Katy Alkire (Akron/Firestone), and
Sarah Noble(Copley/Copley) also added event wins to put the Raiders
over the top.
Both teams will be back in action January 30th, as
they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania to take on Lions of Penn
State-Behrend.
