LATROBE, Pa. -- Katy Alkire (Akron/Firestone) set two pool records as the Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated St. Vincent (Pa.), 149-108, on Saturday.
Alkire touched first in the 1,000-yard free with a time of 11:15.66 and then swam the top time in a 200 individual medley exhibition (2:19.99) for her two pool marks.
Alyson Kolesar (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) and Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) won two individual events each for the Raiders.
Kolesar was victorious in the 100 and 200 free events with times of :55.63 and 2:02.10, respectively.
Mitchell placed first in the backstroke events, winning the 100 (1:03.54) and 200 (2:20.05).
Other winners were Jennie Ciccantelli (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), who claimed the 500 free in 5:31.35, and Taylor Harrison (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), who swam the 200 butterfly in 2:21.55.
Kolesar, Allison Davila (Middleburg Heights/Midpark), Julia Kaszycki (Solomon, Kan./Salina) and Jocelyn Gaydos (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) teamed to win the 200 medley relay in 1:58.26.
Racing as an exhibition squad, the foursome of Ciccantelli, Gaydos, Harrison and Kolesar swam the top time in the 200 free relay (1:45.29).
The Purple Raiders (5-1) will return to competition on Jan. 5 when they participate in the Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
