WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Three different Mount Union swimmers were double-winners as the Purple Raider men's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Wilmington, 118-67, on Saturday.
Rob Brocious (Mentor/Mentor), Matt Carlozzi (Canfield/Canfield) and Mike Greisl (South Euclid/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) led the way for Mount Union.
Brocious was victorious in the 200-yard backstroke (2:22.99) and 800 freestyle (9:21.59) while Carlozzi earned wins in the 50 free (:25.54) and 400 free (4:32.42).
Greisl claimed his wins in the 100 and 200 freestyle events with times of :55.67 and 2:02.10, respectively.
Also for the Raiders, Ben Davies (Willoughby/Willoughby South) won the 200 butterfly in 2:29.62 and Dominique Melvin (Woodmere/Orange) touched first in the 200 individual medley in 2:26.91.
Mount Union won the 200 medley relay in 1:56.38. Team members were Brocious, Ian Perry (Perry/Perry), Mike Zappa (Shelby/Shelby) and Austin Moreland (Dover/New Philadelphia).
The Raiders also recorded the top 200 free relay time of 1:42.18 in an exhibition setting. Greisl, Zappa, Melvin and Carlozzi swam the event.
Mount Union (6-2, 2-2) will return to the pool next Saturday when it hosts non-conference opponent Penn State Behrend at 1 p.m.
