WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont Ross) won two individual events as the Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington, 120-85, on Saturday.
Gabel touched first in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events with times of :28.55 and 1:03.63.
Katy Alkire (Akron/Firestone), Allison Davila (Middleburg Heights/Midpark), Victoria Ljubi (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) and Kerry McCann (Bow, N.H./Bow) also had individual victories for the Purple Raiders.
Alkire won the 200 free in 2:18.00 while Davila took the 200 breaststroke in 2:58.87.
Ljubi's win came in the 200 individual medley (2:41.08) and McCann claimed the 200 backstroke.
Mount Union also fielded the winning 200 medley relay team -- Taylor Harrison (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), Davila, Julia Kaszycki (Solomon, Kan./Salinas) and Jennie Ciccantelli (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) -- which finished in 2:13.99.
The Purple Raiders (6-2, 3-1) will return to the pool next Saturday when they host non-conference opponent Penn State Behrend. The meet will begin at 1 p.m.
