ADA, Ohio -- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team suffered its first dual match loss of the year, 198-93, at Ohio Northern Saturday in Ada.
Ohio Northern improved to 8-2 overall and at 4-0 in the OAC have clinched at least a share of its sixth-straight regular season conference title, while Mount Union falls to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the OAC.
The Purple Raiders claimed wins in two events as sophomore Shelby Mitchell (Stow/Stow) won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.37 and fellow sophomore Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont-Ross) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.32.
Mount Union next competes Friday at 5:30 pm with a dual meet at Wooster then returns home next Saturday against Wilmington at 1 pm.
