ALLIANCE, Ohio - -Mount Union's wrestling team compiled a 2-2 record at the Mount Union Duals, Saturday afternoon in the McPherson Athletic and Academic Complex.
The Purple Raiders split their four matches on the afternoon, defeating Washington and Jefferson (35-7) and Gettysburg (39-8), and were defeated by Notre Dame College (36-3) and Messiah (18-17).
Senior Nick Terifaj (Brook Park/Strongsville) and junior Tyler Johnston (Lyndhurst/Brush) both led the Raiders with 3-1 records on the afternoon. After each lost their first match, Terifaj and Johnston reeled off three straight victories. Terifaj had two pins and a earned 5-3 decision victory, while Johnston won three straight decisions (3-1, 12-4, and 6-4).
Freshman Jeremy Border (Caldwell/Caldwell), sophomores Bryant Roby (Westchester, Ill/St. Joseph), Dan Hoberney (Wickliffe/Eastlake North), Jon Garrison, Brent Kirk (Adena/Buckeye Local), junior Nick Rajcsak (Stow/Stow) and senior Jeremy Regula (Dundee/Claymont) each chipped in with two wins.
