ALLIANCE, Ohio - -Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Wesleyan 133-101 Friday night (Dec. 7) in Hammond Natatorium.
The Raiders now have won five straight swim meets and are 5-1 on the season, while Ohio Wesleyan falls to 2-2 on the season.
Senior Rob Brocious finished first in both his individual events; the 1000 freestyle (10:06.63) and the 200 backstroke (2:00.59).
Brocious also was part of the 400 freestyle relay (3:16.07) that took first place and included swimmers: freshman Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon), junior Mike Zappa (Shelby/Shelby) and senior Mike Greisl (South Euclid/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin).
Rundell finished first in both of his individual events; the 200 freestyle (1:47.78) and the 200 butterfly (2:03.69).
Mike Zappa finished the 50 freestyle (22.29) in first place, and teammate Mike Greisl took first in the 100 freestyle (49.43).
The 400 medley relay (3:45.86) took first and was consisted of sophomores Brian Ruhe (Versailles/Versailles), Joe Simpson (Hudson/Walsh Jesuit) and junior Austin Moreland (Dover/New Philadelphia).
Mount Union swims its last meet of 2012 tomorrow (Dec. 8) when it travels to Berea, Ohio to face Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Baldwin Wallace at 1:00 p.m.
