Women's Swimming & Diving Takes First Dual Meet Loss of the Season

ALLIANCE, Ohio - - Mount Union's women's Swimming and Diving lost 134-105 to Ohio Northern in an Ohio Athletic Conference meet Saturday afternoon in the Hammond Natatorium. 

With the win, Ohio Northern improves its record to 5-4 overall and 3-1 in the OAC, while Mount Union loses for the first time this season and falls to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.   

Junior Courtney Gabel (Freemont/Freemont Ross) finished first in both the 50 free (24.60) and the 100 breaststroke (1:10.43) and took second in the 100 yard butterfly. 

Senior Elizabeth Juran (Independence/Independence) swam the second leg in the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:44.74) that finished in first place and was comprised of junior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), sophomore Carly Brown (Strongsville/Strongsville) and freshman Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley). 

The Raiders next meet is this Friday when they host Wooster at 5:30 p.m. in the Hammond Natatorioum.
