ALLIANCE, Ohio - - Mount Union's men's Swimming and Diving won 131-106 over Penn State-Behrend in a meet Sunday afternoon at the Hammond Natatorium.
With the win, Mount Union improves to 8-4 overall while Penn State-Behrend falls to 6-3 overall.
The Purple Raiders claimed first in the 1650 yard freestyle with senior Rob Brocious (Mentor/Mentor) (17:19.66) and finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with senior Mike Greisl (South Eclid/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) (1:48.50). Junior Mike Zappa (Shelby/Shelby) claimed first in the 50 yard freestyle (22.29).
Sophomore Joe Simpson (Hudson/Walsh Jesuit) finished first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:03.26), freshman Michael Branch (Las Vegas, Nev./Palo Verde) finished first in the 200 yard backstroke (2:07.37) and Brocious finished first in the 500 yard freestyle (4:54.38).
The 400 yard freestyle relay finished in first place (3:14.95) and was comprised of Brocious, freshman Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon), Zappa and Greisl.
Mount Union's next meet will be Saturday February 2nd when they travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on Westminster at 1:00 p.m.
