DELAWARE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's swimming and team team defeated Ohio Wesleyan 136-98, Saturday evening at the Meek Center.
Senior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) led the way for the Purple Raiders taking home two first place finishes.
Mitchell won the 50 and 100-yard freestyles with times of 25.41 and 55.42.
Others taking first place honors were Miranda Gessner (Granville/Watkins Memorial) in the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.24), and Alex Hamit (Massillon/Perry) who took first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.14).
In relay action, the team of Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield), Gessner, Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hoover) and Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hillard Bradley) took first in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:49.48.
Mount Union (6-0) will host Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Baldwin Wallace Saturday, November 23 at 1 pm at Hammond Natatorium.
