ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's wrestling team, ranked No. 29 in the nation, went 3-1 on the day at the Mount Union Duals on Saturday, November 23 in the Peterson Fieldhouse on campus.

The Purple Raiders (4-1) three victories at the duals came against Waynesburg (Pa.) 22-13, York (Pa.) 28-6 and Lycoming (Pa.) 24-12. The Raiders lone loss of the day came to No. 5 ranked Messiah (Pa.) 19-16.

Against Waynesburg, Mount Union won seven of 10 contested matches as they took eight of 10 against York. In the loss to Messiah, the Raiders won five of 10 and picked up six of 10 against Lycoming.

Sophomore Jeremy Border (Caldwell/Caldwell) and junior Jon Garrison (Fairlawn/Copley) each completed the day with a perfect 4-0 record at 133 and 157-pounds, respectively.

Mount Union had five wrestlers complete the day with a record of 3-1 -- sophomore Seth McCurdy (Delaware/Delaware Hayes)at 125, junior Ben Kazimir (Auburn Twp./Kenston) at 149, junior Nick Hendershot (Willoughby/Willoughby South) at 165, sophomore Lucas Dies (Akron/Manchester) at 197/285 and senior Nick Rajcsak (Stow/Stow) at 197/285.

Junior Brent Kirk (Adena/Buckeye Local) finished the day at 2-2 at 184-pound as junior Bryant Roby (Westchester, Ill./St. Joseph) completed the day at 1-3 at 141-pounds. 

Wrestling next competes in the Messiah Petrofes Invitational in Grantham, Pa. on December 6 and 7.
