ADA, Ohio -- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving fell 193-107 to Ohio Athletic Conference defending Champions Ohio Northern in the conference finale Friday night.

Leading the Purple Raiders was freshman Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst Steele) and Marcus Zappa (Amherst/Amherst Steele).

Moore took first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.83) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:14.23), while Zappa took first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:17.66

Also placing for the Raiders, was Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon) who took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.85) and second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:55.10).

In relay action the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Moore, Rundell, Logan Rodgers (Hartville/Archbishop Hoban), Mike Zappa (Shelby/Shelby) took second with a time of 3:15.69.

Mount Union (9-3) closes out regular competition next Saturday at Hammond Natatorium, February 1 at 1pm. Prior to the start of the meet the team will recognize its seniors.
