MELBOURNE, Florida -- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving lost for only the second time this season with a 106-88 defeat in a non-conference swim meet against Florida Tech Sunday afternoon.

Mount Union falls to 6-2, while Florida Tech improves to 4-3.

Leading the Purple Raiders was sophomore Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon) took second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.23.

Also, placing for the Raiders was senior Mike Zappa (Shelby/Shelby) who took third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.03, and was followed by Matt Campbell (Louisville/Louisville) with a time of 23.14.

Freshman Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst) took third in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.01.

The Raiders return to the pool on January 17th when they travel to Wooster, Ohio for a non-conference meet at 5:30 pm against the College of Wooster.
