CANTON, Ohio –Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team suffered a 168-122 loss in the season opener Friday at Malone. 

The Purple Raiders were lead by junior Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon) who placed second in the 500-yard free by tenths of a second with a time of 4:55.26 with the winning time going to Malone swimmer Tim Collet with a time of 4:55.07.  

Mount Union (0-1) returns to the pool tomorrow, Oct. 25 at 1 pm when they travel to Hiram for a non-conference meet.
