CANTON, Ohio – The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team began the 2014-15 season with a non-conference victory, as they defeated Malone, 152-135 on Friday night.
Freshman Jacquelyn Jarachovic (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) was part of three event victories in her first collegiate swimming event.
She was first in both 50 free (25:34) and the 100 free (56:77) while also part of the winning 200 medley relay with juniors Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and Jessica Swanson (Uniontown/Lake) along with freshman Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) in a time of 1:54.24.
Aldo also won 200 IM (2:18.51) while freshman Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) swept both the 100 (1:03.73) and 200 (2:15.08) back stroke events.
Mount Union returns to the pool tomorrow, Oct. 25 at 1 pm at Hiram for a non-conference meet.
