ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Wesleyan 134-74 in a home meet at Hammond Natatorium.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was freshmen Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) who won two events on the day.Lautenschleger won in the 500-yard freestyle (5:23.92) and was a member of the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.16).
Others placing first in their events were Jacquelyn Jarachovic (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.75), Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) in the 200-yard IM (2:18.83), Megan Leibensperger (Uniontown/Green) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:16.55), Ainsley Wilbur (Stow/Stow-Monroe Falls) in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.03), Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley) in the 100-yard freestyle (57.23) and Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) in the 50-yard freestyle (25.88).
Mount Union defeated the Battling Bishops in the 200-yard medley relay (1:55.16) with team of Lautenschleger, Jessica Swanson (Uniontown/Lake), Jarachovic and Goldsmith.
In diving action, Amanda Robinson (Findlay/Findlay) won the one-meter dive (156.80) while Sabrina Skelly (Massillon/Massillon Washington) took first in the three-meter dive (244.30).
Mount Union (5-1) returns to the pool Friday, Nov. 21 as they travel to Baldwin Wallace at 6:00 pm in Berea.
