BEREA, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated Baldwin Wallace 139-77 in their seventh meet of the season.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was junior Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and freshmam Jacquelyn Jarachovic (North Olmsted/North Olmsted) who each won two events on the day.
Aldo won in the 100-yard freestyle (57.51) and Jarachovic won in the 50-yard freestyle (25.82) while both were members of the 200-yard medley relay (1:57.28).
Others placing first in their events were Rebecca Oblak (Strongsville/Strongsville) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:36:16), Caroline Buehl (Middleburg Heights/Berea) in the 200-yard butterfly (2:26.92), Monica Sincel (Tallmadge/Kent Roosevelt) in the 2000-yard backstroke (2:23.65) and Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:25.96).
Mount Union defeated the Yellow Jackets in the 200-yard medley relay (1:57.28) with team of Rose, Jessica Swanson (Uniontown/Lake), Jarachovic and Goldsmith.
In diving action, Sabrina Skelly (Massillon/Massillon Washington) took first in the one-meter dive with a score of 143.30.
Mount Union (6-1) returns to the pool Thursday, Dec. 4 as they compete in the Wooster Invitational (Dec. 4-6) in Wooster.
