ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's swimming and diving fell in the regular season finale 166-128 to Westminster (Pa.) Saturday at Hammond Natatorium in Alliance.
The Purple Raiders (9-4) were led by senior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) who took first in two individual events.
Mitchell took first in the 50-yard freestyle (25.01) and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.72.
Also placing for the Raiders, were sophomores Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hoover) and Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield). Lammlein took second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 19:03.41 and the 500-yard freestyle (5:28.72), while Aldo took second place in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.74) and the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:21.00.
In relay action, the 200-yard Freestyle Relay team of Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley), Joan Dregalla (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls), Wilma Levengood (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) and Mitchell took first place with a time of 1:44.03.
Mount Union will culminate their season at the OAC Championships February 13-15 at the Ocasak Natatorium at the University of Akron.
