ALLIANCE, Ohio – No. 10 ranked Mount Union scored a 26-18 victory over Baldwin Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference wrestling dual match Saturday at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex in Alliance.

The Purple Raiders moved to 11-5 overall and 3-1 in the OAC while Baldwin Wallace falls 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the OAC.

It was the final home match of the 2013-14 season and five seniors -- Tyler Johnston (Lyndhurst/Brush), Lambert McElrath (Cuyahoga Falls/Woodridge), Nick Rajscak (Stow/Stow), Josh Roberts (Wellington/Wellington) and Joe Schindel (Akron/Hoban) – were honored prior to the start of the match.

Baldwin Wallace had an early 12-0 lead with a forfeit win for No. 7 ranked Jesse Gunter at 125 and a pin from Andrew Taylor at 133 pounds.

Bryant Roby (Westchester, Ill./St. Joseph) got the Raiders on the board with a victory at 141 pounds.

Johnston then sparked Mount Union with a pin at 149 pounds while No. 7 ranked Jon Garrison (Copley/Copley) scored a major decision win at 157 pounds and the Raiders led 13-12.

BW came back with a win by David Shapiro at 165 to retake the lead 15-13 but the Raiders would win the next three matches with a pin from Brogan Endres (Dover/Dover) at 174, a decision from Brent Kirk (Adena/Buckeye Local) at 184 pounds and a major decision victory from Rajcsak at 197 to put away the match for Mount Union.

Joe Belford got a decision victory at 285 for Baldwin Wallace for the 26-18 final.

The Raiders close out the regular season next Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 pm at Muskingum in New Concord.
