ALLIANCE, Ohio- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team defeated Hiram, 133-59, in their second meet of the season on Saturday Afternoon.
The Purple Raiders were paced by Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon) who won three events on the day while Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst Steele) won two events as Mount Union won all but three events on the day.
Rundell won both the 200 yard freestyle and the 100 yard butterfly events, with times of 1:49.34 and 53.00. Moore won 200 yard IM with a time of 2:04.27. Both Rundell and Moore were also included in the 400 yard Medley win along with Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) and Nick Hoffman (Fremont/Fremont Ross)
Others placing first in their events for the Purple Raiders were Andrew Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 1000 yard freestyle (11:08.45), Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst Steele) in the 50 yard freestyle (23.15), Logan Rogers (Hartville/Archbishop Hoban), and Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) in the 100 yard backstroke (56.19)
In diving action, Mount Union's Nathan Levengood (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia) placed first in the one-meter dives with scores of 87.00 and 101.50.
Mount Union will next travel to Ohio Wesleyan for swimming action on Friday, November 6 at 6 pm.
