DELAWARE, Ohio- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team won their third straight meet of the season Friday with a 144-79 win at Ohio Wesleyan.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders were Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) and Jessica Hirsh(Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park, Pa.). The duo each won two events on the day.
Aldo won the 400 yard IM (4:53.38) and the 100 yard freestyle (57.09) while Hirsh won the 200 yard butterfly (2:24.04). Hirsh was on the 400 yard medley with a final time of 4:15.71 which also included Sarah Gonda (Boardman/Boardman), Mallory Glenn (Bowling Green/Bowling Green) and Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson).
Others placing first in their events were Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) in the 50 yard freestyle (26.03), Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 200 yard backstroke (2:14.61), and Dana Lautenschleger(Solon/Solon) in the 500 yard freestyle (5:21.83).
In diving action, Sara Fountain (North Ridgeville/Fairview) placed first in the 1 and 3 meter dives.
Mount Union returns to the pool November 20 at 6 pm for a home meet against Baldwin Wallace.
