ALLIANCE, Ohio-The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team won their sixth straight meet of the season with a 152-110 victory against St. Vincent (Pa.).
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) who won four events on the night.
Fry won the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.62), the 100 yard backstroke (53.21), the 200 yard backstroke (1:58.03), and was a part of the 400 yard freestyle relay win with a time of 3:15.63. Also included in the 400 yard freestyle was Gavin Rundell (Mount Vernon/Mount Vernon), Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst Steele), and Tyler Moore (Amherst/Amherst Steele).
Rundell also won the 200 yard butterfly (1:58.06) and the 100 yard butterfly (52.78) while Moore won the 50 yard freestyle (22.35) and the 100 yard freestyle (48.85).
Others placing first in their events were Marcus Zappa (Amherst/Amherst Steele) in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:24.31) and Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron) in the 200 yard breaststroke (2.16.87).
Mount Union returns to the pool Friday, Jan. 15 against Wooster at 5:30 pm in the Timken Natatorium.
