HIRAM, Ohio- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated Hiram, 142-27, in their second non-conference meet on Saturday afternoon
Leading the Purple Raiders were Marcy Spann (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) and Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon). The duo each won two events as Mount Union won every event and also placed second in every event.
Spann won the 100 meter freestyle (1:06.85) and the 50 meter freestyle (30.43) while Lautenschleger won the 200 meter freestyle (2:17.79) and was included in the 400 meter relay victory (4:53.73).
Others placing first in their events were Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 800 meter freestyle (10:21.32), Elise Pichola (Rocky River/Rocky River) in the 100 meter butterfly (1:12.06), Sarah Gonda (Boardman/Boardman) in the 100 meter backstroke (1:13.85), Alison Jacobs (Canton/Glenoak) in the 400 meter freestyle (5:08.82) and Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson), Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and Jenna Kassinger (Silver Lake/Cuyahoga Falls) were included in the 400 meter relay first place finish with Lautenschleger.
Mount Union will host Ohio Wesleyan for swimming action on Friday, October 28 at 6:30 pm at the Hammond Natatorium in Alliance, Ohio
