BEREA, Ohio- Mount Union's men's swimming and diving team defeated Baldwin Wallace, 165-128, for their fifth straight win of the season in Berea, Ohio Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (5-0) were led by Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) and Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) who each placed first in three events on the day. Fry won the 50 yard backstroke (25.43) in the 100 yard backstroke (54.57) and while Palochak placed first in the in the 100 yard butterfly (52.11) and the 200 yard IM (2:04.06). Both Fry and Palochak were each included in the first place finish in the 400 yard medley relay (3:39.57).
Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron) and Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst Steele) were each included in the 400 yard medley relay.
Machovina also placed first in the 200 yard freestyle (1:51.60).
Others placing first in their events were Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:04.51) and Michael Jeromin (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) in the 50 yard freestyle (23.29)
The Raiders next travel to Wooster Thursday, December 1st through Saturday, December 3rd for the Wooster Invitational.
