ALLIANCE, Ohio.- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team defeated non-conference opponent Wooster, 118-116, Friday for their seventh straight win of the season.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders (7-0) was Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron) who won three events on the night. Ineson won the 100 yard IM (54.88), the 100 yard breaststroke (1:00.94), and was included in the 200 yard medley relay (1:38.31).
Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington), Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst Steele) and Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell) were also a part of the 200 yard medley relay.
Palochak also placed first in the 100 yard butterfly (52.58) while Fry placed first in the 100 yard backstroke (53.02).
Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) also placed first in two events on the night including the 500 yard freestyle (4:55.56) and the 1000 yard freestyle (10:03.87).
Ellsworth, Nick Hoffman (Fremont/Fremont Ross), Will Turnbull (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls), Mike Jeromin (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) also placed second in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:31.90.
Mount Union returns to the pool tomorrow, Jan. 14 hosting Ohio Northern at 1:00 pm in the Hammond Natatorium.
