ALLIANCE, Ohio.- The Mount Union men's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Ohio Northern, 160-123, Saturday afternoon for their eighth straight win of the season.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders (8-0) was Tyler Fry (Massillon/Washington) who won three events on the day.
Jack Ineson (Huron/Huron), Logan Palochak (Hopewell, Pa./Hopewell), Alex Machovina (Amherst/Amherst), and Cole Ellsworth (Temperance, Mich./Bedford) each placed first in two events on the day.
Fry placed first in the 100 yard backstroke (53.75), the 200 yard backstroke (2:00.67) and was included in the 400 yard medley relay win (3:35.58).
Palochak, Machovina and Ineson were also each apart of the 400 yard medley relay.
Palochak won the 100 yard butterfly, Machovina won the 200 yard freestyle (1:51.08), Inseon won the 200 yard breaststroke (2:13.95) and Ellsworth won the 500 yard freestyle (4:57.12) and the 1000 yard freestyle (10:09.49).
Brian Walker (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) also placed first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:02.42).
Mount Union returns to the pool Friday, January 20 at Oberlin at 6:00 PM.
