NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- Mount Union scored a 42-3 win against Muskingum in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual Tuesday in New Concord.
The Purple Raiders, who evened their OAC record at 1-1 and 6-9 overall, won nine of 10 contested matches.
Mount Union jumped out to a 23-0 lead headlined by a pair of pins from Nathan Kirk (Adena/Buckeye Local) at 133 and Alex Funderburg (Amherst/Steele) at 157.
There were also a pair of major decisions from Nick Mancini (Boardman/Boardman) at 125 and Alec Cotton (Hartville/Lake) ranked No. 6 in the nation at 141 along with a a 3-1 win from Kyle Ferguson (Akron/Manchester) at 149.
Muskingum (3-4, 0-2 OAC) got on the board with a 6-2 win at 165 but Mount Union came right back with a pin from Nick Miller (Mansfield/Ontario) at 174 that made it 29-3.
Mount Union finished off the match with a 6-2 win from Isaiah Watson-Kirksey (Alliance/Alliance) got at 184, a pin from Grant Martin (Hartville/Lake) at 197 and a major decision victory from Cody Carr (Brookville/Brookville) at 285.
Mount Union next hosts John Carroll in an OAC dual next Tuesday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Alliance.
